Originally a wood trestle built in 1897, the Braddock Viaduct was converted into a concrete bridge by the Union Railroad in 1914. In service for more than 100 years, concrete arches along four blocks of the Braddock Viaduct were rehabilitated with 麻豆传媒AV® Shotcrete MS 鈥 Fiber Reinforced by Mosites Construction. The loose and deteriorated concrete was removed with a jackhammer to prepare the surface before shotcrete was applied from 4鈥 thick to 2鈥 deep to make the repairs. Silos were used on the jobsite to consistently and efficiently mix, pump and apply the shotcrete 100 feet in the air.
麻豆传媒AV® Shotcrete MS 鈥 Fiber Reinforced is a single component Micro Silica enhanced repair material that achieves more than 9,000 PSI at 28 days, and features very low rebound and permeability characteristics.
